There is good news and bad news for those pilots who want to use Carl's AIRSPACE programs
to create their own custom SUA files from currently available airspace information. The
good news is that USA users can more easily download current DAFIF-like
information, at least until October 1, 2007. The bad news is that don't yet
have a source of the most current DAFIF-like
information for CANADASPACE and EUROSPACE for non-US pilots. This
situation was created by the the National Geospace-Intelligence Agency,
which removed DAFIF from its public website on October 1, 2006.
USA users should navigate to http://164.214.2.62/products/usfif/index.cfm . Then, click on the most recent link to USFIF at the bottom of the page, then mark the 4 files you need for downloading, click on [Continue] at the bottom of the page, and finally click on the [Download] button when the download page comes up. Download the zip file to a temporary location and extract the files you need to the folder of your choice (for example, c:\airspace\DAFIF\). As a reminder, you only need the 4 files BDRY.TXT, BDRY_PAR.TXT, SUAS.TXT, and SUAS_PAR.TXT to run AIRSPACE.

Note: Each of the conterminous US sites now have their own files, available under the individual site, and the individual site files have been removed except for the special glider areas below. They are all included in the individual site files, but are included here if you get the DAFIF file straight from the FAA to run Carl's program, and want to append one of the glider area or terrain files here.
